Exercise myth

Have you heard of fast-twitch and slow-twitch muscles? They’re the two muscle types of the body. Apparently there’s a myth floating around the internet that you’re born with one or the other and that’s it – you’re either designed for explosive power or long term output.

It is true that some people have more of one than the other, so they’re more inclined to be good at workouts designed for their body types. But that’s not the bottom line.

You can train your muscles, restructure them if you will, in order to be better in all areas. And that’s the goal of CrossFit, make you pretty good at everything. We don’t want you to be an amazing long distance runner who cannot hold your own against a heavy lifter and vice versa. We want to help you become a great all around athlete.
