I talk to a lot of people who want to feel stronger, lose weight, or just feel better in their body.
And when I ask what’s been holding them back, the most common answer I get?
“I’m just not motivated.”
Let’s get real about that.
You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
And you don’t need to find some magical well of willpower.
What’s really going on?
You’re tired.
You’re busy.
You’ve got a million things competing for your attention, and taking care of yourself always seems to fall to the bottom of the list. (Sound familiar?!)
Motivation is not what gets you results.
What actually gets you results?
Having a system that works.
Because even when people do feel motivated – they walk into a gym and don’t know what they’re doing. So they hop on the treadmill. Maybe use a few machines. End up doing endless cardio.
They don’t feel stronger.
They don’t see results.
And eventually… they stop going.
Or they get motivated to meal prep, spend 3 hours cooking bland food, eat the same thing for three days, and get so sick of it that they throw the rest away.
That doesn’t feel good either.
So of course you “lose motivation.”
Because the plan you were following wasn’t actually sustainable.
If you’re coming from a place of being deconditioned or out of practice, the first few weeks are about learning how to use your body again.
That’s not a failure – that’s part of the process.
It might not feel like progress right away.
But you’re laying the foundation.
You’re waking your body up.
You’re learning the movement patterns that will make everything else feel easier later.
