A new member came in the other day and expressed frustration about her lack of progress. She just moved to the area, life’s been hectic, she’s been less active, and like many people in transition, her health took a backseat. Two weeks into showing up at the gym and making some changes to her nutrition, she hit a wall.
She looked at me and said, “I’m honestly thinking about starting GLP-1 meds. I just want to see progress.”
Now, I get it—and I told her that.
GLP-1 medications can be a helpful tool for some people. There’s no shame in using support when it makes sense. But they’re not a magic fix, and like anything else, they work best when paired with sustainable habits.
So instead of focusing on what she might need long term, we came back to what she could do right now.
We lose it the same way.
No matter what path you choose—lifestyle, medication, or a combination—lasting change takes time.
Here’s the truth:
It didn’t take two weeks to get here.
And it won’t take two weeks to get out.
But that doesn’t mean we’re stuck.
Then build from there.
Before we make changes, we need to know where we’re starting. I asked M to keep a photo journal of her meals for five days—no calorie tracking, no macros, just photos. Why? Because awareness is the first step to change.
Once we have the full picture, we can make small, meaningful tweaks that stick.
So many people think they need to overhaul everything—cut carbs, hit the gym 6 days a week, drink a gallon of water a day. The reality? That rarely works long-term.
Instead, I encouraged her to zoom in.
🏆 Can you walk for 15 minutes today?
🥗 Can you add one palm of protein to lunch?
💧 Can you drink one extra glass of water?
These little wins add up—and they build confidence too.
Progress doesn’t come from being perfect. It comes from showing up when it’s hard, when you don’t feel like it, and when it feels slow.
So if you’re feeling stuck or discouraged, I want you to try this:
👉 Choose one thing you can do today to support your goal.
Not ten. Not five. One.
Because once you start moving in the right direction, momentum builds.
It’s not about how fast you go. It’s about staying in the game long enough to win.
If you’re someone who’s frustrated with your pace—or feels like results are taking too long—know that you’re not alone. But also know that you can make progress.
You just have to give it enough time to show up.
