“And you should too!”
How many headlines like that have you read? It’s always something “new.” Kale, jackfruit, lemons, whatever. Eating healthy shouldn’t be so hard.
In fact, it’s not. Today’s society of “go, go, go” and restaurants offering the saltiest, butteriest foods makes it more difficult, but in reality, it’s not.
CrossFit’s recommendation on nutrition (not diets, because we don’t diet at Nika, we eat to sustain a healthy lifestyle) is: “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.” Beyond that, we try to follow our prescribed macros (protein, carbs, and fats) but those can be altered to each individual body.
At NIKA Athletics, we have our own nutrition coaches that can help get you started and keep you on track to maintaining a healthier lifestyle with food. It doesn’t have to be rocket science, it’s just food.
